_After 4 years of moderate success in high school running for the Sidwell Friends Fighting Quakers, chasing after Towpath and Jimmy Daly in meets, Andy took 3 years off from running during college, instead spending time "studying". Just after graduating, he started running again, and got bored with it fairly quickly. That's when he started doing triathlons and his love for running was rediscovered. Soon after, his running times started dropping and he took training much more seriously. It was also around that time that he dropped his efforts to become a full-time vegetarian and brought chicken tenders back into his life...we don't think it's just a coincidence that his running got better when he started eating his beloved tenders again. Since joining up with the GRC, he set all of his current PRs. He trains for triathlons now (as a member of the DC Tri/Snapple triathlon team with Matias Palavecino), but will use the rest of 2012 to focus on running again, aiming for a big PR at Philadelphia Half-Marathon in November and hopefully helping the team at USATF XC Club Nationals in December.
