Breanna Deutsch
Breanna Deutsch was a latecomer to distance running. After realizing she lacked coordination, but had endurance, her high school soccer coach recommended that her talents would be best suited in a sport where she only had to follow a trail or run in circles. She joined the cross country team in her junior year of high school and never put back on her soccer cleats. As a student at Scripps College she ran cross country and the 5K during the track season. Despite continuous injuries, she managed to win All-American honors in Division III cross country and placed first in the 5K during the regional championships her senior year. Breanna is a reporter for a media outlet in DC and hopes to pursue a career in broadcast journalism. She is excited to be a part of the GRC team and plans on shedding some serious seconds (or minutes) off of her 5K and 6-8K times. |
