Erin Melly

Erin started running after realizing her soccer skills were fantastically average at best. As a New York native, she was lucky enough to live in one of the few high school states that has the steeplechase as a regular event, so she found her true knack in competitive puddle jumping. Erin attended Columbia University, where she studied Economics and Sustainable Development and competed on Columbia's cross country and track and field teams. Aside from stomping on every runnable inch of New York City, Erin was a 3 time NCAA East Regional Qualifier in the steeplechase, the event in which she holds Columbia's #3 fastest time in history. She earned 4 time Academic All-American honors, All-Ivy distinction, and lead her team to an Ivy League XC Championship and their first NCAA qualification in 12 years in her senior year. With GRC Erin plans to race 5Ks and 10Ks on the track, as well as some longer road races. Erin works as a Economic Policy Research Assistant at a think tank.
