Jake Klim hails from Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Born into a running family, Klim led his high school cross country team to a 5th place finish in the competitive Massachusetts State Meet his senior year. He finished 3rd at the class meet in cross country behind a two time Footlocker Champion and placed 4th in the class meet in the 800m run. While donning the Red Raider singlet, Klim recorded times of 15:51 for the cross country 5k, 1:59 for the 800m and split a sub-52 second 400m relay leg. Klim later ran for the Retrievers of University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) and participated in every event from the 4x400m to the 10,000m but his true love was cross country. After a lackluster half decade of sub-par post-collegiate running, Klim decided to give racing another shot. Klim joined up with the GRC after running the Army Ten Miler in 2006 and, the next year, with the help of the team, recorded personal bests in every event from the 5k to 10 miles and ran his first marathon. Known affectionately in running circles as the RED FOX, Klim trains with the GRC on a weekly basis and credits the team for his success.
Klim is a documentary television producer and owns three cockatiels; Puddy, Mitten and Butters.
