Jason Myers
|
Hailing from the mean streets of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Jason Myers is now living and training in Alexandria, Virginia. After running cross-country and track for 4 years in high school and one season of cross country as a freshman at Christopher Newport University, Jason decided to take time off from running to focus on "studying." In 2007, Jason started running again and began to train with his old high school coach. After spending two and a half years as an assistant coach/training partner for a track team that set every school record from the 800m to the 4 x mile relay, Jason decided to start to focus on his own running.

In the fall of 2009, he got a job in Washington, DC, and started training under Coach Jerry. In the last two years, he has taken 30 seconds off of his 5k PR and plans log quality times this fall for 5000m, 8,000m, and 10,000m. And as the rare distance runner who weighs over 170 pounds, Jason GRC's enforcer who is invaluable in case of bar fights or trackside brawls.
