1,500m - 4:27 mile - 4:48 3K - 9:27 5K - 16:46 Katie (Ryan) Kieran started running competitively in middle school persuaded by her father's encouragement. Katie quickly fell in love with running and became a standout runner in New York State. Her career took off at Boston College where she served as team captain in her junior and senior years. Katie's accomplishments include earning All-American honors in cross country, which helped the team to a fourth-place finish at the NCAA XC Championships in 2000, and running the lead-off leg for the BC squad that won the 2001 Big East indoor DMR championship. Katie's successes on and off the track were recognized with her being awarded the Boston College Scholar-Athlete of the Year four years in a row, and her nomination as an NCAA National Woman of the Year Top Ten Finalist in 2002. Katie was inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Hall of Fame in 2011. She took a decade off from competitive running while she focused on her career in finance. She earned her MBA from Wharton and spent five years as an investment banker. Currently, Katie is raising her daughter and working as a part-time consultant. Katie has laced up her racing shoes again and is excited to focus on cross country as well as distances from 1,500m to 5000 meters on the track. |
