Kristie Moser Nunez

Kristie is a former standout high school and collegiate runner that recently returned to competitive racing. She was nationally ranked in the mile, 3000m and cross-country. She continued her collegiate career at Penn State University competing in Cross-country and Track & Field and even earned an invitation to the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. Kristie took many years off from competitive racing, but continued running for fun and fitness. She was bitten by the competitive bug again in 2009 and decided to take on a new challenge - triathlons. She had great success in competitions ranging from the sprint distance up to the 70.3 Ironman. After missing a 70.3 World Championship qualifier by 1 spot related to the fact that she swims like she has cement blocks attached to her ankles, she decided to focus solely on running again. Kristie relocated to the Washington D.C. area in May and in researching the local racing scene noticed that many of the top local runners competed for GRC. She is excited to train and race with such a talented group of runners. She is looking forward to earning new PR's in the second chapter of running career!
