Matias Palavecino
Matias Palavecino has giant calves. But that doesn’t stop him from burning up the trails with the Georgetown Running Company. After racing and training with GRC in 2007 leading to PRs in the 10k, half and full marathons, Matias turned to triathlons where he competed at the Ironman World Championships in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. Since then he’s found success in the sport as an amateur culminating with a win at the 2009 Chicago Triathlon. The training dividends continued through 2010 with a PR at the Boston Marathon.
A graduate of Bucknell University, Matias is an engineer who works for the Federal Aviation Administration. He currently lives in Alexandria, VA with his wife Katie and son Leo.
