Patrick’s running career began when his 7th grade English teacher (and running coach) told him that “cross country” was nothing like soccer. It’s been a torrid love affair ever since. Leading Homer High School’s cross country and track team in the distance events segued to a brief stint at Nazareth College before he transferred to the University of Rochester. At Rochester, Patrick thrived under the tutelage of Coach John L. Izzo III. Upon graduation, he decided to run from Rochester to Homer (a distance of 111 miles) without aid. This he accomplished, despite the numerous obstacles and wild animals that tried to stop him. He has since moved to Washington, DC and is now training and racing with the Georgetown Running Company. He hopes to lower his collegiate PRs and test the water in longer events.
Patrick spends his days working for the United Nations Foundation and the Energy Future Coalition in Washington, DC.
