Like many runners, Paul joined the track team in high school to train for soccer. While he enjoyed competing, Paul did not start seriously training until college. Paul walked on to the team at Wake Forest, where he eventually captained the distance team, won the Raleigh Relays steeplechase, and finished third in the ACC steeplechase as a senior. Paul returns to running after an 11 year hiatus and is loving competing and training with GRC.
Paul’s goals include a triumphant return to racing on the track and to give the steeple another go, albeit with slightly older legs but offset by dad strength. Outside of Paul’s duties as a dad and a runner, he works as a primary care physician.
