Bill started running in 7th grade when his identical twin brother and he decided that they couldn’t compete in the same events. After some success at the high school level, Bill’s career was cut short due to back surgery, and he never got to compete at the collegiate level. As a PhD candidate studying exercise physiology at the University of Maryland, Bill put his degree to use, and began training seriously again after a 7-year hiatus. Since then, he has PR’ed in every event and wants to become the oldest (and heaviest) runner to run sub 3:55 in the 1500 and 1:53 in the 800.
