Jaren Rubio

Jaren discovered her love for running in college at Northwestern University, where it began simply as a fun way to relieve stress and stay active. During her senior year, a friend convinced her to join him in the Nashville Rock ’n’ Roll Marathon. With no pacing strategy and a modest four-hour estimated finish time, she surprised herself by running 3:08 and by how much she enjoyed racing. After graduation, she continued to both run for fun and train for the Chicago Marathon, where she achieved her goal of breaking 3 hours in 2:52. Jaren aims to run a sub-2:50 marathon, a sub-1:20 half marathon, and to try out shorter distances. She works as a healthcare litigation consultant at FTI Consulting.
