Maeve Pierson

Maeve grew up playing competitive soccer but didn’t discover her love for running until college. During her freshman year at Georgetown, she agreed to join a friend on a 10-mile run and never looked back. Hooked on pushing her limits and the joy of running with others, she continued running casually through college. After a couple of half marathons, Maeve ran the Marine Corps Marathon her senior year—still not fully knowing the difference between “training” and simply “running”—and hit a BQ. Since then, she’s embraced the training side of the sport, running 2:50 in Chicago.

Maeve is excited to keep improving in the marathon, chase a sub-1:17 half, and branch out to shorter distances, logging miles in search of DC’s best bakeries along the way. Maeve works as a Project Assistant at the Fisher Center for Hereditary Cancer and Clinical Genomics Research.
