Michael started running thanks to a gentle push from his dad, a former college runner, who encouraged him to jump into a few local 5ks while growing up. That initial spark ignited a successful high school career, culminating in an All-American finish in the mile. He went on to compete at Brown University, where his career was hampered by a string of injuries, but a fifth year at Providence College finally provided the breakthrough he had been looking for.
While the pandemic put his immediate post-collegiate plans on hold, he kept running for the fun of it and is now eager to return to structured training and racing. He joined GRC to take another stab at some track PRs and test his range on the roads. Professionally, Michael is a Business Director at Capital One and resides in Arlington, VA with his fiancée, Emma.
