Being generally uncoordinated, Rob first started running cross country to satisfy his middle school’s sports credit in 7th grade. After a relatively lackluster high school career in track and XC, Rob was accepted by the open arms of DIII running at Swarthmore College. Under the tutelage of coach Pete Carroll, Rob found success at many distances, becoming only the second Swarthmore runner to break 15 minutes in the 5k indoors, contributing to a school record in the 4×800 relay, and running the ninth-fastest time in school history in the 1500.
At GRC, he seeks to lower his track times even further while also experimenting with longer distances on the roads. As many fine young members of GRC have before him, Rob works at the NIH as a post-bac researcher.
