Shannon MacMaster

Shannon started running cross country in middle school as a way to make friends as her previous athletic endeavors were failures. And though she was plagued with exercise-induced asthma throughout high school, Shannon developed steadily and was part of a state championship team. In college, Shannon joined the club team at Maryland which altered her perspective on training and running. Shannon led the womens club team to their first ever Top ten finish at NIRCA XC Nationals and won the NIRCA Track Nationals 1500 two hours after running a 45 second PR in the 5000. With GRC Shannon wants to continue to learn how to train for and execute longer road races and run PRs on the track. Shannon works on satellites as a Thermal Engineer at Vertex Aerospace at NASA.
