Tim grew up in Central Massachusetts and got his start with running in elementary school in the early ’90s, when he enjoyed participating in the kids track meet held every August the day before the Falmouth Road Race on Cape Cod. In high school, Tim ran and captained XC and track at Wachusett Regional High School in Holden, MA. The highlight of his high school career was winning the New England indoor championship in the 4x800m during his senior year with three of many talented teammates.
In college, Tim ran a few seasons of XC and track at Tufts University where he majored in history. From there he ran very little in his 20s but came back to the sport in his mid-30s. Around the same time, he got his PhD in health policy at Brandeis University. In 2022, he moved to the DMV to join the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as a health economist, where he worked on mental health and addiction policy. After a few excellent years of running with some other neighborhood dads he continues to run with, he was lucky enough to connect with GRC in 2026.
